Alina is an English teacher turned software developer. After finishing a BA in Linguistics at the University of Washington, she completed a MA in TESOL, in hopes to continue onto a PhD in Linguistics. With years of teaching as an adjunct faculty and a little bit of soul searching, she found her way to programming, the perfect combo of logic and creativity. Before joining Foundry, Alina was designing and building responsive websites for local businesses and artists.

Besides web and software development, she moonlights as a professional violinist in Symphony Tacoma and Passenger String Quartet, and has collaborated with Judy Collins, Fleet Foxes, Macklemore, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and Al Gore. She enjoys snacks, adventures, and jokes.
