Michael Dougherty

Michael is currently co-founder and CEO of Foundry’s sister company, Quorus, a Seattle startup that provides hosted communication services to websites.


Prior to starting Quorus, Michael served various director-level roles in strategy, planning, and advertising at Zillow.com, another online real estate startup. During his tenure, Michael was closely involved with all elements of online advertising: sales, operations, products, & technology.


In 2002 Michael co-founded Redfin, an online real estate company. Michael played a key role in driving Redfin’s strategy, business planning, product planning, and marketing. Michael also led Redfin’s efforts to build the first highly interactive online maps.

From 2000 to 2002, Michael led operations & technical sales at Coolearth Software, a 15-person supply-chain software and services company based in Seattle.

Michael received a BS in Engineering and International Studies from Yale, and an MSEE from the University of Washington. At UW, Michael earned a 3-year National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate fellowship.  Michael additionally holds 2 US Patents directed to audio processing inventions, and has authored several additional pending patents.
