Avelle, the Seattle start-up that lets the Sex and the City set rent designer handbags, accessories, sunglasses, and watches, came to us looking for ways to improve their performance in search. The answer was a clear as the jaw dropping cost of buying a vintage Hermes Crocodile Birkin bag.

Avelle needed to leverage a remarkably knowledgeable and articulate staff to tap into the passion of their audience. The result was the Avelle blog. Following a blog strategy we prepared, on a blog platform we built and integrated into their site, they set to work and created a very productive blog. Sadly, there were no Alma MM Louis Vuitton bags in it for us.

Glassdoor is keeping companies honest by letting you see what their employees are saying before you do business or work with them. Foundry helped to make sure you can see what the folks at Glassdoor have to say by helping to build out their blog.

A great team on a mission always has a lot in the development pipeline. What they don’t always have is a lot of experience with building great outlets for communication online. Foundry helped Glassdoor with flexible solutions for blogging and content management, letting them focus on what they do best.

These are all nice things to have if you can manage it, and there is no doubt that Picnik does.

Foundry helped Picnik on SEO and Ad Ops fronts. To say that it was a pleasure working with this team would be an understatement, and we’d love to congratulate them on their acquisition by Google.

We worked with their team to develop strategies increase their organic search traffic, and allow them to quickly launch market by market SEM campaigns.

TeachStreet is one of Seattle’s most exciting young startups. Staffed by one of the most capable teams imaginable, they were well on their way to creating the perfect site to help students find local teachers, tutors, classes and schools. However, they still grappled with the challenges of managing associated with hyperlocal SEM and SEO. We worked with their team to develop strategies to increase their organic search traffic and allow them to quickly launch market by market SEM campaigns. Here’s what they had to say about working with us:

TeachStreet’s all about connecting people with local experts, to save people time (and money) when they’re interested in learning new things. So, when we wanted to improve our search performance, we figured we’d eat some of our own dog food and go out and find an expert. We did just that with the team at Foundry Interactive. We knew that they understood what was on the line, and how to plug into a team which was heads down pushing out one release after another. They’ve helped us with both SEO and SEM, and we’ve been amazed with the results. We couldn’t be happier with the engagement.

Dave Schappell – Founder and CEO

Our congratulations to TeachStreet as they join AmazonLocal—and congratulations to AmazonLocal for their opportunity to work with such an amazing team.

Yapta helps travelers get a handle on fluctuating travel prices so they know when to book flights and hotel rooms. For those who have already booked an airline ticket, only to find out that they didn’t get the best price, Yapta can still help them take advantage of “guaranteed airfare” policies. In general, they function like Your Awesome Personal Travel Agent (YAPTA—get it?).

Aside from being home to a few die-hard Red Sox fans, they are a remarkable group. It was our pleasure to work with them both on establishing an organic search footprint beyond their branded terms, and getting some basic ad sales processes in place.

You know how it is when you move to a new town: you need to open a new office, expand your team, and continue to grow traffic at a breakneck pace. Let’s face it, it’s not east to carve out a giant niche is a crowded marketplace. At times like this it’s nice to be able to turn to your new neighbors for help.
