Bill Nordwall
Bill is a user interface engineer with eight years of experience building large-scale websites for both public and private companies.
Bill served as a lead user interface developer for Zillow.com from 2005-2007 and at WaMu.com from 2007-2008. Prior to joining Zillow.com, Bill developed a new user interface for Washington Mutual’s retail banking website, WaMu.com. Within a month of its launch in May of 2005, WaMu.com was the fastest banking website around, up from 25th fastest before the redesign.
Bill co-founded Foundry Interactive with Mike McDevitt in 2008, focusing full-time on Search Marketing and Web Development.
Bill received his degree in New Media from the University of Washington in 2002. He lives in the Wallingford neighborhood with his wife Sarah and enjoys honing his skills on the piano and bass.
Mike McDevitt
Mike co-founded Foundry Interactive in 2008 with Bill Nordwall with the goal of surrounding himself with talented and creative people in order to produce high quality work. Mike brings to Foundry over a decade of experience in interactive media and online marketing.
After graduating from Princeton University in 1996, Mike began his career at Ziff-Davis. Mike was an early employee at Expedia, where he founded the Partner Marketing team managing all media sales, opened Expedia’s Honolulu office, and oversaw Market Management for the West Coast. In 2005, Mike joined Expedia’s founder at his new venture, Zillow.com. There he oversaw advertising and established the Zillow.com New York office. After leaving Zillow.com, Mike joined Google’s Seattle office, working on gaming and travel accounts.
Mike lives in the Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle with his wife Janet and their two young children, Colin and Alexa.
Tommy Unger
In the summer of 2008, Tommy joined the Foundry Interactive team as the third founding member. He brings technical expertise and experience focused on data analytics and website development.
Prior to Foundry, Tommy worked at Zillow.com as a data analyst since its launch in 2006. Later in his career at Zillow.com, Tommy brought residential housing data to life as a real estate market analyst. Before Zillow.com, Tommy worked as a web developer and SEM analyst at All Star Directories, developing web traffic analysis tools to analyze one of the fastest growing small businesses in Washington. Tommy got his professional start in Seattle at Microsoft working on ASP.Net performance.
Tommy graduated from Georgia Tech in 2001 with a degree in Computer Science. His early web development career was focused on collaborative learning technologies.
Tommy lives in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle with his wife Angela. On weekends you can find them enjoying the great outdoors.
